God, Himself, has used this method for His messengers, which serves to make it even more important.
It is among that methods the Quran and divine prophets have used to invite people to ethical values and remove the dust of negligence from their divine Fitrat.
Tazakkur means reminding one about what he has neglected or forgotten. It is the opposite of Nisyan, which means forgetting something or forgetfulness. Some believe that the word Insan (mankind) is from the same root word as Nisyan is and that is why mankind is always inclined to forget and neglect things, even the purpose of creation and the path of growth and perfection. In order to awaken humans from the slumber of forgetfulness and neglect, he needs Tazakkur on the path of growth.
The role of Tazakkur in education is so important that it has been considered as being among the goals of acts of worship. The Holy Quran refers to Tazakkur as one of prophets’ main duties:
“And continue to remind, for surely the reminder profits the believers.” (verse 55 of Surah Adh-Dhariyat)
“Therefore remind, if the Reminder benefits, and he who fears shall remember, but the most unfortunate one will avoid it.” (Verses 9-11 of Surah Al-Aala)
One of the policies of Satan is to make people forget so that they would not fulfil their pledges to God.
“Satan has dominated them and has made them forget the guidance of God. They are Satan's party and the party of Satan will certainly suffer a great loss.” (Verse 19 of Surah Al-Mujadilah)

God reminds people of the blessings He has granted them so that they will be grateful and always remember God.
The Holy Quran describes itself as a means for Tazakkur and reminding all people and that is why all of its verses point to profound concepts that prevent negligence and forgetfulness.
In Verse 110 of Surah Al-Ma’idah, God talks about the blessings granted to Jesus (AS):
“When God said, ‘Jesus, son of Mary, recall My favors to you and your mother. (Recall) how I supported you by the Holy Spirit, made you speak to people from your cradle and when you grew up, taught you the Book, gave you wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel. (Recall) when, by My will, you made a sculpture of a bird out of clay, blew into it, and it turned into a real bird by My Will. (Recall) how, by My will, you healed the deaf, the lepers, and raised the dead. (Recall) when you came to the Israelites in the house with clear miracles and I saved you from their mischief, even though the disbelievers among them said, ‘This is obviously magic.’”
